Pop's leading power couple is headed to the big stage this summer: Beyoncé and Jay-Z will play Ford Field on Aug. 13, they announced Monday morning.
The blockbuster family affair will play the Detroit Lions' home as part of the 36-city OTR II (On the Run II Tour), which will kick off June 6 in Cardiff, Wales.
Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. March 19. Pre-sales for Citi cardholders, Beyhive fan club members and Tidal subscribers will start at 9 a.m. Wednesday.
Detroit was not included on the couple's initial On the Run Tour, a 21-date outing that earned more than $100 million to rank as the fifth-best grossing tour of 2014. The production featured dozens of numbers as Beyoncé and Jay-Z alternated turns on stage when not performing together.
Since then, the couple's much-scrutinized private life got an extra shot of drama: Beyoncé addressed Jay-Z's apparent infidelity on 2016's "Lemonade"; the rapper alluded to it the following year on "4:44."
Beyoncé was most recently here in 2016, headlining Ford Field during her Formation World Tour. Jay-Z played Detroit just last November, performing the first hip-hop show at Little Caesars Arena for a crowd that included LeBron James and Big Sean.
