4 injured in crash near Grand Valley State University

Police say alcohol is believed to be a factor. The cause from the crash is still under investigation.

ALLENDALE, Mich. - Four people were involved in a two car crash Thursday October 4 in Ottawa County.

The crash occurred near the intersection of Pierce St. and 52nd Ave. in Allendale Charter Township just before 11 p.m.

Police on scene said a red Charger, being driven by an 19 year-old GVSU student, was t-boned by a gray car with three other people in it. The driver of the Charger was taken to Butterworth hospital with serious injuries.

The three others in the gray car were also treated for injuries. Two 18-year-olds, the driver and front seat passenger, were taken to the hospital. The passenger is in serious condition. The driver was treated and released. A 21-year-old back seat passenger was taken to the hospital in a private vehicle.

Police say alcohol is believed to be a factor. The driver of the gray car is in police custody. The cause from the crash is still under investigation.
