Several crews are on the scene of a house fire in Georgetown Township.
The call came in just before 10 a.m. Saturday, July 23, near the intersection of Fox Hill Drive and Briar Lane. It appears that the two-story home was completely destroyed by flames.
The home next door to it also has damage from the heat.
An early investigation shows the fire likely started in the garage, according to Georgetown Township fire chief Dan Hamming. The family was able to get out safely.
Several departments were called in to assist Georgetown Township in fighting the fire, including Hudsonville and Jamestown. Many of those are on scene because of the extreme heat of the fire and weather. No firefighters were injured.
