Family says woman killed in house fire 'loved life and was a very happy person'

The victim has been identified by family members as 59-year-old Kimberley Ann Czerkies.

OVERISEL TOWNSHIP, Mich. - One woman is dead after a house fire in Allegan County on Thursday, Sept. 6.

The fire was called in by a concerned neighbor.

The neighbor and the first police officer to the home attempted to knock down the front door but couldn't. They were also held back by flames that quickly spread to the entire first floor of the home in the 4600 block of 46th Street.

The victim has been identified by family members as 59-year-old Kimberley Ann Czerkies. They also said she loved life and was a very happy person.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
