Kent County, state health officials offer update on PFAS reports

Kent County and state health department officials update the community on PFAS investigation.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services and the Kent County Health Department hosted a media roundtable on PFAS, Tuesday.

Leaders from those groups provided an update regarding the cancer risks associated with PFAS in northern Kent County.

Last month, the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality estimated that more than 11,300 locations statewide may be contaminated by PFAS.

PFAS was once commonly used in fire-fighting foam, nonstick surfaces, and stain guards.
