GRAND HAVEN, Mich. - If you're headed to the Grand Haven State Park Beach you can ditch the chairs and umbrella. A small business is now offering cabanas for rent this summer.
Greg Henry took the plunge into small business back in January after the State Park approved his request to run a cabana rental business at the center of the park.
Henry told 13 On Your Side this is a first for GHSP.
"Something classy that's really nice that will make Grand Haven the best beach in the area."
Henry wanted to lighten the load for beachgoers all while providing a bit of extravagance. The cabanas have a drink table, foot rests, and pillows.
The two-seaters can be rented for $10 an hour. It also offers a way for those with some disabilities to enjoy the beach as well.
"They're very accessible for people that maybe can't walk in the sand very well, people that can't be in the sun because of medication, you're about to have a nice shaded spot and enjoy the beach," Henry said.
"We'll do anything to make them happy here. We just want them to enjoy Grand Haven's beach."
The new business is running a bunch of specials including some for this Father's Day weekend.
