GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Gordon Food Service announced Tuesday, June 12, that it will open a new, full-service city grocery store in Grand Rapids early fall 2018.

The store will go inside the ground floor of the Diamond Place project at 1003 Michigan St. NE. The Diamond Place project is a joint venture between Third Coast Development and PK Housing of Okemos.

The store will serve customers living in the Heritage Hill, Medical Mile and northeast Grand Rapids area.

This announcement comes after GFS redesigned their Cascade Township location. The new 16,000-square-foot Diamond Place location will feature some of the same product selection and store design concepts as its' Cascade counterpart. The store will also offer online ordering with in-store pickup services for commercial customers.

According to the President of Gordon Food Services, Tim Garber, the new store is “the next step in updating our stores in terms of convenience and appeal to both our foodservice and home shoppers.”
