OTTAWA COUNTY, Mich. — A 19-year-old was injured after rolling his car and escaping before the car caught fire.
The crash happened around 11:45 p.m. on 96th Street in Blendon Township. A Toyota Camry driven by the 19-year-old was traveling northbound when the teen lost control and crashed in a ditch along the road, deputies say. The car then rolled and landed on the roof.
The 19-year-old was able to get out of the car before it caught fire.
Deputies say the teen sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
The flames were extinguished by first responders and 96th Avenue was closed for about an hour for investigation and cleanup. The investigation into this incident is still ongoing.
