More water, soil testing at House Street disposal area

Another round of soil and groundwater testing will involve hundreds of samples and conclude this fall.

ROCKFORD, Mich. - Wolverine Worldwide and its consultants are planning more testing at the former House Street disposal site, including 250 soil samples, 50 groundwater samples and testing for other organic compounds, metals and PFAS.

Preparation for this next round of tests begin this week, with work expected to take place over the next two months, followed by another round of testing this fall.

Residents near the House Street site have already been notified, and Wolverine "will attempt to complete this work with as little impact on and disruption to the surrounding neighbors as possible."

This round of testing follows the drilling of 12 on-site monitoring wells, 18 off-site monitoring wells and more than 25 groundwater samples. You can find the preliminary results of those test on Wolverine's blog.
