Deputies seeking driver involved in motorcycle crash on 28th Street

The motorcyclist suffered serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital.

WYOMING, Mich. - The intersection of 28th Street and Burlingame Avenue was closed for several hours after a crash involving a motorcycle Wednesday morning.

The Kent County Sheriff's Office got the call just before 5 a.m. June 20. Deputies were originally investigating the crash as a hit-and-run, but later determine there was no collision.

The 29-year-old motorcyclist suffered serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital.

According to the Wyoming Department of Public Safety, a burgundy 4-door vehicle was going south on Burlingame Avenue and crossed 28th Street in front of the motorcycle. Investigators say in an attempt to avoid the vehicle, the motorcyclists lost control and was thrown off his bike.

The motorcyclists remains in the hospital in serious, but stable condition.

While investigators say there was was no collision, officers would like to speak to the person driving the burgundy vehicle.
