BYRON TOWNSHIP, MICH. -- Investigators say the 100th Street Bridge over U.S. 131 was hit for the sixth time in 2018 overnight.
Early Friday, April 6, debris was reported on the highway and according to Kent County dispatchers, there was a semi truck pulled off to the side near the bridge.
Michigan State Police confirm the bridge was hit by a truck carrying wood pallets.
The Kent County Road Commission was on scene after it happened to clean up, but say they will not be going back out today because there were no visible signs of damage.
Because the bridge keeps getting hit, one man took it upon himself to create a Facebook event in response. He suggests the community bubble wrap the bridge.
Police are strongly advising the group not to take action.
