Teenager seriously hurt in crash with dump truck

What lead up to the crash remains under investigation.

BYRON TOWNSHIP, Mich. - A teenager is seriously hurt after colliding with a dump truck in Kent County Friday, Aug. 17.

The crash occurred shortly after 10 a.m. at the intersection of 92nd Street SW and Burlingame Avenue in Byron Township.

The 17-year-old girl was driving east in a Subaru Outback on 92nd. The dump truck was heading south on Burlingame.

What lead up to the crash remains under investigation, but the girl needed to be extricated from her vehicle.

AeroMed was launched, but could not land due to weather conditions. Instead, she was taken to Helen DeVos Childrens Hospital by ambulance. She is listed in serious condition.

The dump truck driver was not injured. No names are being released at this time.
