Big Ten football traditionalists should be smiling on Monday now that it was announced that the Michigan football and Michigan State football game on Oct. 20 at Spartan Stadium will kick off at noon.

The game will be seen on Fox, as previously announced.

Last season's soggy Wolverines-Spartans game was a night game at the Big House and was on ABC.

U-M (5-1, 3-0 Big Ten), ranked 13th in the latest USA TODAY Coaches poll, hosts No. 10 Wisconsin on Saturday (7:30 p.m., ABC). The ESPN "College GameDay" pregame show will telecast live in Ann Arbor Saturday morning.

MSU (3-2, 1-1 Big Ten) visits No. 8 Penn State on Saturday (3:30 p.m., Big Ten Network).

Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh is 1-2 against Mark Dantonio's Spartans. And Dantonio has beaten U-M in eight of the 11 meetings he has been head coach.
