Allegan Tigers looking to climb the mountain in 2018

The Allegan Tigers have struggled in high school football lately, but they want to turn their season around in 2018.

ALLEGAN, Mich. - Opening night for high school football in Michigan is Thursday, August 23, which means the 13 ON YOUR SIDE sports department has a lot of scouting to do before the first 13 On Your Sidelines show that same night. We're crisscrossing the area letting you know about as many West Michigan football programs as we can.

The Allegan Tigers have struggled for a few years now, winning only five games in the last five seasons, but their new coach Chris Madill is bringing a new attitude.

He says no matter who Allegan's facing, you play to win the game. In his first year, he also says wants to qualify for the playoffs and win a conference title.

High hopes for that program, but his reasoning for setting lofty goals is simple.

Allegan opens up this week with a returning state runner up, Edwardsburg.
