ROCKFORD, Mich. — A man is dead after his semi tractor-trailer drove off the road late Friday night, according to Michigan State Police.
MSP said around 11:50 p.m. the semi was driving southbound on US-131 south of 10 Mile Road when it drove off the roadway to the left and entered the median into a heavily wooded area.
The driver, a 51-year-old Mesick area man, died at the scene, MSP said.
The left lane of the southbound US-131 in this area was closed for several hours while crews investigated and cleaned the wreckage.
The cause of the crash is unknown but remains under investigation, MSP said.
