GRAND RAPIDS, Mich — Eastbound I-196 at 44th Street in Grand Rapids was closed for about an hour and a half while crews worked to clear the scene of a semi-truck that caught fire.
The semi was hauling tires, according to the 13 ON YOUR SIDE crew on scene. Several firefighters were seen removing tires from the back of the truck.
The Michigan Department of Transportation tweeted that EB I-196 was closed at 44th Street just before 7 a.m.
The freeway was reopened around 8:30 a.m.
It's not clear yet if anyone was injured in the incident.
