Sponsored: Muskegon Lumberjacks prepare for season opener

The Muskegon Lumberjacks started their season with a seven-game road trip and their home opener is Saturday, October 26.  Lumberjacks President, Andrea Rose, joined us to talk about the season ahead.  Rose said it's fairly uncommon to start a season with seven games on the road but there are renovations underway at the arena in Muskegon, so they requested that.  Rose said road games provide great bonding time for the team, so there are benefits, as well.  The home opener on Saturday will once again feature Flannel Fest, a celebration with live music and giveaways.  There's lots to celebrate for the Lumberjacks.  They had tremendous success at the NHL Draft, with five Lumberjacks drafted. Rose said Sacha Boisvert and Matvei Gridin were drafted 18th and 28th overall, and the Jacks have had 119 total draft picks throughout their tenure in the USHL.

Rose shared some of the new fan experiences for the upcoming season, including a new scoreboard coming to Trinity Health Arena, perhaps before the end of the year.  She said every home game will feature a theme and there will be lots of action, both on and off the ice.  Rose said Saturday night games will all start at 6pm, and on Sundays, tickets will be just $10.
