Amber joined the 13 ON YOUR SIDE Weather Team in July 2024 as the weekend evening meteorologist. She is a local having grown up in Rockford, Mich., and she couldn’t be happier to be back home! West Michigan is where Amber fell in love with weather, especially by watching storms and lake effect snow bands roll in over Lake Michigan.
Before coming to 13 ON YOUR SIDE, Amber worked at ABC57 in South Bend, Ind. where she worked for 2 years as a weekend morning meteorologist. She received her degree in Meteorology from Central Michigan University (Fire Up Chips!).
At CMU, Amber was heavily involved on campus from being a part of CMU’s on-campus news station, News Central 34, to working as a teaching assistant for 3 meteorology-based courses, to serving as the president of CMU’s Student Chapter of the American Meteorological Society.
Amber is passionate about finding creative ways to effectively communicate the forecast and telling stories about our changing climate. She hopes to inspire young girls to learn more about STEM just like she was inspired in her own childhood.
Outside of work, Amber loves traveling, hiking, and playing with her cat, Noodle. You can often find her trying out local coffee shops reading a good book in her free time.
