Growing up spending summers along the Michigan coast, Cali is excited to be back in west Michigan. A native of the north Chicago suburbs, she believes that Michigan has the better beaches.
Cali graduated from Indiana University in Bloomington, Ind. with degrees in Broadcast Journalism and Spanish Linguistics. While at IU, Cali went all over the state reporting and anchoring for WTIU News in Bloomington, a member station of PBS. She also spent her college career as a co-host, reporter, anchor, and executive producer for Indiana University Student Television’s news department.
In 2023, she spent eight months in NBC National’s Los Angeles bureau with Nightly News with Lester Holt and the TODAY Show. With both programs, Cali had the opportunity to work alongside producers and correspondents on stories impacting the western United States and was a three-time Nightly News: Kids Edition correspondent.
Cali loves being in the thick of a story, and always loves being in the middle of the action. No matter what time of day, Cali will always gather her gear and rush to the scene. But her heart also lies in telling the stories of the communities she reports for.
When she’s not working, she loves biking, ice skating, and cheering on the Chicago Cubs, the Blackhawks, and the Hoosiers!
