Erin Sullivan joined 13 On Your Side as a multi-skilled journalist in July of 2024. She graduated from Kent State University and was an anchor and reporter for Kent Wired’s TV2 News. While working for TV2, Erin also collaborated with The Kent Stater on police and court stories.
Erin most enjoys reporting stories that directly impact her community. Her senior year she visited East Palestine, Ohio for the 1 year anniversary of the town’s toxic train derailment. Her coverage was recognized by The Hearst Journalism Awards. Erin also covered Chicago’s ongoing migrant crisis where she spoke to community activists and migrants waiting for housing assistance at Chicago Police Stations.
Erin is passionate about connecting with the people she interviews while reporting stories. She has been greatly impacted by those who trust her to share their stories.
While growing up on the Southwest Side of Chicago, Erin attended Mother McAuley Liberal Arts High School. Her high school’s journalism program and media literacy course empowered her to pursue a career in news. Go Macs!
When she’s not in the newsroom, you can always find Erin trying new places to eat, grabbing a cup of coffee or visiting her family back in Chicago.
