Stephen Colbert really wants to be the sexiest man in late night.
The Late Show host -- who took over the CBS program in 2015 after David Letterman retired -- struck a series of seductive poses for the August issue of InStyle magazine -- and his modeling skills are quite impressive.
In one image, Colbert is wearing a dapper navy blue Tommy Hilfiger suit with the slacks cut into shorts and the jacket's sleeves ripped off. The 53-year-old comedian also bares his six-pack abs -- or someone's abs -- while posing in a T-shirt with a muscular stomach printed on it.
Colbert's humor came out during the photo shoot, but he got quite serious when talking to the magazine about the struggles he faced before fame. "In my late 20s, early 30s, I had a nervous breakdown," he says. "I was subject to panic attacks and stuff like that except when I was onstage. I would curl up in a ball on a couch backstage, and then I'd hear my cue coming up, and I would uncurl, go onstage, do the show, and then go offstage and curl up again."

Abs put on with scotch tape? That is pretty dumb.

Then, he says, something changed. "I went to write a new show, I guess it opened a door in my brain, and it was over," Colbert recalls. "I woke up one morning, and it didn't feel like my skin was on fire. But then I thought, 'Well, I can't ever stop doing this because that skin-on-fire is always right behind the door.'"
Now Colbert is leading in the late night ratings, and after this photo shoot, it's clear he has both brains and beauty.
The late-show host isn't the only funnyman turning heads this summer. Steve Carell -- who was once a correspondent with Colbert on The Daily Show -- also garnered some attention for his silver fox style while promoting Despicable Me 3 in June. "I am so sick of people just looking at me for my physical attributes," he quipped to ET when asked about his handsomeness. "It's just genetic. There's nothing I can do."
