GRAND RAPIDS, Mich — The BISSELL Pet Foundation is encouraging some fun during social distancing with the first-ever "Walktail" walkathon.
Between Friday, May 1 and Sunday, May 3, participants are walking coast-to-coast in this nationwide event to raise funds for the foundation. Every step taken will help aid homeless pets across the nation.
Participants can walk individually or create teams of family and friends. Those joining in on the fun can walk wherever and whenever they'd like in the three day span, and even chose how much they walk.
The walkathon has been created during current stay at home orders in lieu of the foundation's largest fundraiser, the Blocktail Party.
BISSELL Pet Foundation has partnerships with animal shelters and rescues in all 50 states.
Last year, the foundation was able to award over $2 million in grants, and has impacted over 260,000 through adoption, spay/neuter, micro-chipping and emergency support since 2011.
