Complete guide to the 2024 28th Street Metro Cruise

The event kicks off on Thursday, Aug. 22 and lasts through Saturday, Aug. 24.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The sounds of classic cars will be rumbling throughout Kent County this weekend as the annual 28th Street Metro Cruise is back again beginning Thursday.

It all kicks off with Cascade's Metro Cruise Warm-Up on Thursday, Aug. 22.

And then on Friday, Aug. 23, the Main Event opens up at Rogers Plaza at 2 p.m. and goes until 9 p.m. that night.

Then on Saturday, Aug. 24, the six official Metro Cruise Pit Stop locations open up along 28th Street and will remain open with the Main Event from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m.

The official cruise time of the 28th Street Metro Cruise is from 4 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday, but there tons to do before and after.

Cascade Metro Cruise Warm-Up

It's the 14th year of the Metro Cruise Warm-Up event in Cascade. The event runs from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and will include a collection of cars, food, law enforcement displays, live music, vendors, games and activities.

  • Wyoming High School Band and Color Guard perform.

5 p.m.

  • Live music with "Tonic Duo" on the Main Stage.

7 p.m.

  • Live music with "Innuendo" on the Main Stage.

9 p.m.

  • Event closes.
  • Shuttle service ends.

Main Event Schedule Saturday, Aug. 24

11 a.m.

  • Event opens - All food vendors, kids activities and entertainment begins.
  • Opening Ceremonies on Main Stage.
  • Shuttle service begins between Rogers Plaza, Wyoming High School and Wyoming KDL Library.
  • Lucky's Self-serve DYNO testing opens.

12 p.m.

Kids entertainment area opens

1 p.m.

  • Live music with "Hark Up!" on the Main Stage.

3 p.m.

  • Miss Metro Cruise Finale on the Main Stage.

4 p.m.

  • Official Cruise Time - Cars take to 28th Street to cruise from 4 p.m. until 5 p.m. This is the official cruise time of the event.

7 p.m.

  • West Michigan Sound Off Awards Ceremony

9 p.m.

  • Event closes.
  • Shuttle service ends.
  • Lucky's Self-serve DYNO testing closes.

  • Lucky’s Car Smash – take a sledge hammer to either a U of M or MSU painted vehicle
