MUSKEGON COUNTY, Mich. — The Felt Summer Concert Series will return to Laketown Township this week.

On Thursday four weeks of the free concert series at The Felt Estate will kick off, featuring music, food, drinks and even tours of the estate.

The lineup for the series is:

  • July 11 - Zion Lion
    • A Kalamazoo-area band
    • A mix of reggae, African zouk, mucosa, soukous and some Afro-Latin influences
  • July 18 - The Schrock Bros
    • A Michigan-based band
    • Americana/blues ensemble
  • July 25 - Bernadette Kathryn and the Lonely Days Band
    • Contemporary young country music drawing on Motown and rock and roll.
  • Aug. 1 - Lighting Matches
    • A Grand Rapids-based band
    • Alternative rock

Each week the gates will open at 5:30 p.m. and food and drink services begin at 6 p.m. The music will start at 7 p.m.

There are no pets allowed except for registered service dogs.

No outside drinks are allowed but outside food is permitted. Coolers and bags will be checked upon entry.

Food will be provided by Pizza Parliament from Wyoming and drinks will be provided by Saugatuck Brewing Company from Douglas and Michigan Wine Company from Fennville.

New this season, the concert series is promoting sustainability through composting and recycling as much as they're able.

A compost bin from Organicycle will be at the series for any food scraps or paper products. There will also be a free water bottle-filling site.

“Concertgoers can help support our efforts by bringing their food in recyclable or compostable packaging and using our new bottle-filling station to stay hydrated at no cost and without adding to a landfill,” said Elizabeth McEwen, executive director of The Felt Estate.

The Felt Estate will have reusable water bottles, wine tumblers and other items for sale during the concerts.

The 1917 Carriage House and mansion will be open for tours during the shows.

If there's inclement weather, cancellations will be announced by 5 p.m. via email and online.
