The Grand Haven VFW will hold their 11th annual Ribfest on May 27 and 28. West Michigan restaurants will compete for the title of best ribs. Congressman Bill Huizenga will be a special guest judge at the event.
A VIP Beer Garden Sampling Event will be held on Friday May 27 from 6 -9 p.m. It will feature exclusive craft beers not available in Michigan. The $20 entry fee will include complimentary glass, appetizers and 8 samples.
The hog calling contest will start Saturday afternoon. 1st place wins $100, 2nd place wins $50 and 3rd place wins $25. There will be live entertainment on both days.
Admission to all other events is free.
Ribfest starts Friday at 4:00 p.m. Saturday's events start at 11:00 a.m. The rib judging starts at 4:00 p.m.
