GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — For the 42nd year, the Homecoming of the Three Fires is coming to Riverside Park.
Hosted by the Grand River Bands of Ottawa Indians, the celebration recognizes the Ottawa, Potawatomi and Ojibwa tribes, who established villages in the Grand Rapids area.
Visitors can expect to enjoy traditional Native American music, dance, art, food and crafts at the two-day event.
The festival will be held on Saturday, June 15 and Sunday, June 16. Admission is free, and the public is encouraged to join. To learn more, click here.
The Grand River Bands of Ottawa Indians is a native sovereign nation that originally included 19 bands of Ottawa people who lived along the Grand River and other waterways. Now, a majority of the Grand River Bands of Ottawa Indians members are in Kent, Muskegon and Oceana counties.
