GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Fans of anime, manga and cosplay should mark their calendars—a massive expo featuring all things Japanese culture is coming to DeVos Place!

JAFAX, which stands for the Japanese Animation, Film, and Art eXpo, will have everything from rare collectibles, artwork, cosplay supplies, classes, panel sessions and more.

If you're looking to do some shopping, there will be plenty of opportunities at JAFAX. A wide array of vendors will offer everything from merchandise to artwork.

There will also be opportunities to hear from voice actors and industry professionals on panels and Q&A sessions, including some actors from popular anime series like "Hunter x Hunter," "DragonBall Z" and "Sword Art Online."

While JAFAX centers on modern Japanese culture, traditional Japanese culture will be highlighted with Sumo performances and tournaments, Samurai sword classes, Japanese lessons and more. Other activities on the schedule include a K-pop dance party, a cosplay contest, video game tournaments and trivia.

"We are thrilled to celebrate our 26th event with JAFAX," said the event organizers. "Over the years, JAFAX has grown into a vibrant community, bringing together fans of Japanese animation, film, and art. We are proud to provide an inclusive platform for everyone to share their passion and appreciate the rich cultural heritage of Japan."

JAFAX was first hosted 26 years ago with about 150 attendees. Since then, the expo has expanded, including partnerships with local organizations and holding the event downtown. Thousands now enjoy JAFAX each year.

JAFAX runs from Friday, June 21 until Sunday, June 23. Three-day tickets for the expo are $60 online. Tickets for one day are only available at the door. See the full schedule and buy your tickets in advance here.
