Michigander Bicycle Tour marks 25th year with summer rides

The 25th annual Michigander Bicycle Tour is planned this summer in western Michigan.
The 2016 County Health Rankings report has named Ottawa County tops in the state for health outcomes, which is based on quality and length of life.

The 25th annual Michigander Bicycle Tour is planned this summer in western Michigan.

The tour offers 2-day, 6-day and 8-day options and includes breakfast and dinner daily, camping and ride support.

The 2-day ride July 16-17 is based in Fruitport. It includes a ride to the USS Silversides Submarine Museum in Muskegon and routes are up to 30 or 35 miles per day.

The 6-day ride takes place July 18-23 and will average 50 miles per day on mostly paved trails and backroads. It includes stops in Hart, Newaygo, the Grand Rapids area and Holland. The 8-day ride takes place July 16-23 and includes the shorter rides.

The Michigan Trails and Greenways Alliance, the Michigan Fitness Foundation and Grand Rapids-based retailer Meijer are involved in the event.
