GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A portion of Riverside Park in Grand Rapids was closed on Thursday as crews worked to set up a stage.

The City of Grand Rapids told 13 ON YOUR SIDE the closure was for a private event. We now know that event is that Vice President Kamala Harris will be hosting a campaign event there on Friday.

It was shared publicly that Harris would be campaigning in Grand Rapids on Friday. However, the details of where the rally would be were not shared until Thursday night when people invited to the rally received their invites over phone calls and emails.

13 ON YOUR SIDE viewers reached out to us to let us know that they had signed up for the rally and received a phone call letting them know the rally was at 2001 Monroe Avenue Northeast, which is the location of Riverside Park.

Later, they also received emails with the information as well, which you can see below:

Harris is scheduled to stump across Michigan on Friday, including a stop in Oakland County marking her seventh visit to the state since she launched her campaign.
