Every Wednesday, we help you plan your weekend with Grand Rapids Kids — and by the looks of what's happening, the holidays are here.
Floats, music and performers will fill the streets of downtown Grand Rapids, during the Art Van Santa Parade. The parade makes its way down Monroe Avenue, starting at 9, Saturday morning. Be sure to go see Santa afterwards, in the lobby of 250 Monroe.
The Hudsonville Holiday Parade is also on Saturday. It starts at 10 a.m. from Highland Drive, along 32nd Avenue, to Central Boulevard. The parade ends with a community party at Terra Square, with Santa, games, crafts, hot chocolate and cookies.
You can pick up a few holiday gifts at A Very Merry Market Day, also on Saturday. The market is from 10 to 5, at the Downtown Market Grand Rapids. You’ll find more than 45 artisan gift vendors, and more than 20 indoor food vendors.
Continue your shopping at the Kerstmarkt Holiday Market in Holland. The outdoor European-style market, is happening at the 8th Street Marketplace. There will be holiday items, and food for sale and artisan demonstrations. The market is happening during weekends, from this Saturday until December 14.
Finally, the Grand Rapids International Wine, Beer & Food Festival is Thursday through Saturday. Check out more than 1,500 wines, beers, ciders and spirits from around the world. It’s all happening at DeVos Place Convention Center.
