Local Comic Book Shop Celebrating 4th Anniversary

The Comic Signal turns 4 on Saturday, Feb. 22.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Comic books have been a part of local small business owner Don Myers’ life for more than 40 years— from flipping through the pages of his first comic book in 1974 (“Batman” #254, which he still owns) to bringing home “Scooby Doo” comics for his children.

In 2016, Myers realized his dream of sharing his love of comic books and comic book culture with the West Michigan community when he opened The Comic Signal, located at 4318 Plainfield Avenue Northwest in Grand Rapids, which is operated by his entire family.

“I never thought my hobby would turn into something like this,” said Myers. “Our customers have been generous and supportive, and I have appreciated them growing with me as I've made my dream of owning and operating a comic book store has become a reality.”

Over the past four years, The Comic Signal has grown to become a home in West Michigan for comic book lovers and enthusiasts of all ages. The Myers family will celebrate four years of positive growth with a day long celebratory event on Saturday, February 22 from 11am until 3pm.
