SAUGATUCK, Mich. — The Saugatuck Film Festival is back for its second year in November.
The single-day festival takes place on Saturday, Nov. 4 at the Saugatuck Women's Club in downtown Saugatuck, where there will be screenings of 15 films. The event runs from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m.
"People love to celebrate art, and what a better way to do it, than watch some films that have been locally made as well. We show a lot of films that are from right here. So there's a lot of filmmaking happening here. And we're ready to show them," said Festival Director Logan White.
In addition to the film screenings, the festival will also have question and answer sessions with the film makers and over $2,500 in prizes will be given out at an awards ceremony.
"After each feature, there will be a opportunity for Q&A with the director if they attend. And then we're also going to have an awards, we'll close out the night with an award ceremony, where we hand out the prizes, which is great," White added.
All of the proceeds from this year's event will go to benefit the Wishbone Pet Rescue Alliance, an organization that provides shelter and safety for pets in Allegan County.
The film festival will feature 13 short films and 3 feature length films:

"We have a really unique film festival going on here. We're in the heart of downtown Saugatuck. It's a lot of fun to come out. We encourage people to take a look at the programming and check out the films that they want to see or interested in. We obviously would want them to watch all of them. But you get we're downtown Saugatuck. You can go to many of our wonderful shops and restaurants in between films or maybe during a film that you're not as interested in," said White.
