MUSKEGON, Mich. — The Hackley and Hume tours are the perfect way to enjoy the festivities while learning about the Muskegon communities history and holiday traditions. The Muskegon Historic Sites of the Lakeshore Museum Center is continuing the tradition of hosting Holiday tours at the Mansions.

Although the main attraction at the site is the houses themselves, tours are also the perfect time to check out some of their other attractions such as: Purchasing a Christmas tree, ornament and postcard decorating and photos in an authentic carriage.

This year the best-decorated room competition is returning for its second time ever.

Everyone who comes for a tour will get two free voting tickets which they can use to vote for the room they like best. After using the two free tickets more can be purchased for $1 a ticket, or 6 for $5.

The first tour will take place on Nov. 25 and the last date will be on Dec. 28. That date is also the last day for people to vote on their favorite room. Tours will be held on Saturdays except for the last week where there will be tours on Dec. 27 and 28, which fall on a Wednesday and a Thursday.

Rates for the tours can be found on the Lakeshore Museum Center website.
