ROCKFORD, Mich. — One up-and-coming country star is singing about her West Michigan roots in her newest single released Friday.
"It started in Rockford, Michigan, where I'm from, and I just always loved music. I always loved country music in particular," explained country artist MaRynn Taylor.
MaRynn Taylor moved from Rockford to Nashville at 17, living out her country music dreams. She writes music daily, and her latest song, "Small Town Spinnin'", hits close to home.
"So the message is really about where I'm from, which is Rockford, and I feel like if anybody's from a small town, they know that talk kinda goes around and I put some little hints about Rockford in the song," stated Taylor.
In 2023, this rising star was named CMT's Next Woman of Country and this fun, flirty song might just be her big break. She wants West Michigan to know how proud she is to be from Rockford.
"The town raised me and there are some good people there who supported me and my singing. I am proud that every time I get to go back I am welcomed with open arms and so this song is for them," explains Taylor.
Taylor co-wrote this song with Erin Kinsey and Black River Publishing's Josh Kerr.
"Small Town Spinnin'" is out now and can be downloaded anywhere you can find music.
