GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Now that it's winter it's time to bring some nature inside. Not only do house plants make you feel better during the gloomy Michigan winter days, they also make you healthier.
Many house plants remove toxins from the air inside our homes. These toxins include benzene, formaldehyde, trichloroethylene, xylene and toluene are found in our carpets, furniture, kitchen cabinets, paint and many other home decorating items.
We recently visited The Plant Parlor on Wealthy Street in Grand Rapids to learn more about which plants remove the most toxins from our homes and bonus! Most of them thrive on neglect so even the brownest thumb can keep these plants alive and get some fresh air in their home.
