GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Robert is a quiet young man whose favorite activity is playing video games. Even though he’s quiet, Robert enjoys interacting with others and sharing a laugh. “Robert has a good sense of humor,” says his worker. In addition to enjoying video games, Robert likes playing with his pet ferret. Robert says that he doesn’t have a favorite food item and likes all types of cuisine. When he’s asked about the qualities he wants in a forever family, Robert says he wants one who has dogs and will allow him to keep his pet ferret. “Robert would not mind a family who attends church as he grew up going to church with his family,” says his worker.
When he’s asked to describe himself, Robert says he’s a good guy and fun to be around. Robert benefits from having structure and routine in his home environment. He also benefits from one-on-one attention.
Robert would do well with a patient and experienced two-parent forever family, and he would do best as the only child. His new parents would benefit from knowledge of the impact of trauma on a child. His new forever family must make sure Robert receives the services he needs to thrive.
