GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — You need not worry about Sydney keeping the faith. “She is very interested in growing spiritually and learning more about God,” says Sydney’s worker. Sydney loves learning and reading. She also enjoys being active by participating in yoga, gymnastics and ballet. In addition, Sydney likes swimming and sculpting. Her worker calls Sydney a bright, intelligent and insightful young lady who’s “wise beyond her years.” Sydney describes herself as caring, loving and generous. One thing that Sydney cares for is time. “She has a particular fondness for watches and telling time,” says her worker. When it’s dinner time, Sydney favors just about any food except brussels sprouts. Since she’s such a spiritual person, Sydney wants a forever family who will support her in that area and will take her to church.
“Sydney thrives on positive attention, physical attention and affection including hugs,” says her worker. Sydney gets along well with her peers, especially at school. “She is motivated at school,” her worker says. Still, Sydney benefits from assistance to help her function at her best in school.
Sydney’s worker is open to one or two parents in her new forever family. “The family should be committed to Sydney,” says her worker. “They should be willing to facilitate the services that Sydney will require.” In addition, Sydney would do best as the only or youngest child in the home.
