Hear from the stars of 'Mixed-ish'

Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Tika Sumpter get us ready for the premiere of the "Black-ish" spin-off "Mixed-ish."

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — If you loved ABC's "Black-ish" you might enjoy the new spin-off coming to television, "Mixed-ish."

A young Rainbow Johnson recounts her experience growing up in a mixed-race family in the ’80s, and the dilemmas they face to acclimate in the suburbs while staying true to themselves. Bow’s parents, Paul and Alicia, decide to move from a hippie commune to the suburbs to better provide for their family. Their experiences illuminate the challenges of finding one’s own identity when the rest of the world can’t decide where you belong on.

Val Lego gets an inside look and even a chance to hear from Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Tika Sumpter, stars of "Mixed-ish" on what we can expect from the show!

The series premiere airs on Tuesday, Sept. 24 at 9 p.m. on 13 ON YOUR SIDE, be sure to tune in.
