GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. —

Critter Barn Live Nativity

  • Experience the Live Nativity scene inside the historic barn with costumed characters, music, and live animals at The Critter Barn in Zeeland
  • Enjoy the decorated barns & facility, as well as unique photo displays, and visit with cows, donkeys, goats, sheep, rabbits, and more
  • The Live Nativity hours are 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays and 11 a.m. - 8 p.m. Fridays & Saturdays through December 21, with additional hours on the 23, 27, and 28. 

 

Guardian Brewing Anniversary Bash

  • Saugatuck’s Gaurdian Brewing will celebrate their first year of business with an anniversary bash on December 21.
  • The event includes special barrel-aged tappings and live music 3 p.m. - 9 p.m.
  • Guardian Brewing is a destination craft brewery that opened in 2018 with 10 year-round taps and 12 seasonal and barreled-aged taps offering a wide variety of styles and hosts a number of events throughout the year, including beer school, live music, euchre tournaments, and more, as well as weddings and corporate events in their event spaces. 

 

Grand Rapids Ballet Presents the Nutcracker

  • The Grand Rapids Ballet presents The Nutcracker, a favorite West Michigan holiday tradition.  It returns to DeVos Performance Hall for two weekends December 13-15 & 20-22, with matinee and evening shows. 
  • Enjoy the special Clara’s Nutcracker Party, December 15 at 10:30 am at Amway Grand Plaza Hotel. Tickets to Clara’s Nutcracker Party include hands-on crafts, the opportunity to meet characters from the ballet, a special reading of the Nutcracker story, tea & breakfast, as well as tickets to the 1 p.m. matinee.

Ludington New Year’s Eve Ball Drop 

  • Ring in 2020 at the Ludington New Year’s Eve Ball Drop!
  • A beer garden and live music start the festivities at 9:00 pm at the James Street Plaza, with a fireworks display and ball drop at midnight.
  • Ludington puts safety first, providing a free shuttle service to and from the event.
  • Make a safe, walkable evening of it and book lodging within walking distance of downtown Ludington, such as Stearn’s Hotel or Ludington Pier House Motel

  • You can now get a live look around West Michigan at the live camera gallery on wmta.org
  • Preview conditions at your travel destination, or check on snowfall totals from the latest lake-effect systems across the area, you’ll find live feeds of what’s happening right now across the West Michigan area.
  • Current camera feeds range from Mackinac Island to Muskegon to Traverse City, and will continue to grow as we are add more camera locations
