A decorated Sack Supper bags provide kids with "an extra touch of love, the secret ingredient in each of our nutritious evening meals," according to the nonprofit.

“Today, 1 in 4 children in West Michigan experience food insecurity in their homes. Kids’ Food Basket nourishes kids to be their best, in school and in life. Your ongoing support means we can reach our full potential as a community that cares about the impact good food has on the development of our children. Poverty is complex but feeding a child is not.” Kids’ Food Basket Founding CEO, Bridget Clark Whitney said.

Kids’ Food Basket asks that community members RSVP in advance for the event. Community members who are unable to attend the Pop-Up event are encouraged to drop off decorated bags during regular business hours, Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Oct.1 through Oct. 25.

“While a Sack Supper isn’t the only thing that helps children succeed, it’s a basic need at a critical time in their lives. Good, consistent, nourishing food every day allows West Michigan kids to focus on things that shape their future success and not where their next meal will come from,” Clark Whitney explained.
