Books that help get back to class

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Getting back into the swing of things at the start of the school year can be challenging for some kids. 

Samantha Hendricks from Schuler Books & Music stopped by with a few suggestions to help ease the challenge of getting back to school.

Special Edition Story Time: Kids with Cars learning Comedy on August 24
Take a trip to Schuler Books &  Music for a special edition story time during Grand Rapids Metro Cruise! The book store is partnering with The Comedy Project to bring your "Kids with Cars learning Comedy." It's a 45 min improv class where the comedians will use kid’s ideas to produce the story and then give your littlest comedians a chance to try

September: Discover the Genius of Play
Play is an important part of a child’s everyday life. For the month of September Schuler Books is partnering with The Genius of Play to share expert advice, play tips and ideas to help inspire children’s wellness! Be sure to check their calendar for PLAY inspired events.

Story Times Saturdays and Mondays at 11 a.m.
Jump into the pages of our favorite books! There will be sing-a-longs, craft making and adventures. 

Teacher Appreciation Day is October 5
Head over on October 5 for a special day to celebrate teachers! All teachers with a valid school ID will be able to enjoy: Prize drawings, teacher swag, a complimentary beverage from the cafe and an extended classroom discount. There will also be author’s presentations to talk about school visits and classroom opportunities!
