GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Despite its ancient history dating back to 500 BC, ear seeds are becoming trendy again.
What are they? They're small seeds used to stimulate pressure points in your ear.
The ear is a microcosm of the whole body and modern clinical research provides strong evidence that using them along certain pressure points can relief a host of health issues from stress to anxiety, smoking cessation, weight loss, insomnia, migraines and depression just to name a few.
Craig Houchen a medical acupuncturist from Mercy Health's Wege Center for Mind, Body and Spirit talked has been applying ear seeds to patients for decades. He talked with us about how they work and the different types that can be used from piercings to needles to magnets applied with self-adhesive.
