GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — November is here and it's the perfect time of year to head to Traverse City for some fun festivities!
Test your beverage IQ at the TC Ale Trail IPA Challenge, run a beer-themed 5K during the Great Beerd Run or get out your coziest flannel and be ready for the Flapjack and Flannel Festival.
These quirky events and others are all part of the seven days of craft beer during Traverse City Beer Week.
The IPA challenge is a local competition between nine Traverse City breweries. Each brewery will produce its “Best IPA” and submit it for the event.
Two hundred beer lovers will have the opportunity to get tickets and be a judge and choose their favorite brew. All tasting will be blind. Ticket holders will know the description of the beer, ABV, and other facts, but the brewery will remain confidential.
At 9 p.m. an awards ceremony will take place and the winning brewery will take home a trophy and the privilege of saying their brewery has “The Best IPA in Traverse City”. For more information visit here.
Head to the Grand Traverse Resort and Spa under the Pavilion Tent for the Sixth Annual Great Beerd Run 5K. It's a fun run designed to celebrate all things Beer and Beard.
Stay and play close to Downtown Traverse City for the Beer Week festivities. Book your lodging with a participating property and receive a Traverse City logo-ed fanny pack stuffed with a package of pretzels (perfect for a night of beer tasting), a Fab Fall coupon book, a Downtown TC coupon book and a Brew Tour Guide.
Additional lodging packages are also available through the Fab Fall program running now through December 13.
