CEDAR CREEK TOWNSHIP, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Natural Resources Monday found a cooler with 53 filleted walleye carcasses inside.
Officials believe the green Coleman cooler is connected to a potential walleye poaching case.
The cooler was found on the side of the road near the corner of River Road and Holton-Duck Lake Road in Cedar Creek Township.
According to the DNR, the 53 walleye appeared to have been caught around April 4 or 5. The legal daily limit is five 15-inch walleye.
