MUSKEGON COUNTY, Mich. — A young dog is now safe and sound after being rescued from beneath a shipping container by volunteers with Pound Buddies.
The shelter received a call about the dog, who was under a shipping container at a construction site near the Muskegon County courthouse, on Wednesday.
Volunteers were unable to pull the dog out, and said she was not willing to come out on her own. They later learned she had on a harness and was stuck on something beneath the container.
Over an hour was spent working to rescue the dog, and according to the Pound Buddies Facebook page, one of the volunteers "even sacrificed her coffee cup so we could dig a hole big enough to pull the dog through."

After finally hooking onto her harness, volunteers safely pulled the dog out from under the storage container.
Pound Buddies said they have named the dog Courtni, as she was found near the courthouse.
"The little dog...is safe and coming around slowly today," the Facebook post reads. "She is still pretty skittish but we are confident she will feel more comfortable each day."
