WYOMING, Mich — The Grandville and Wyoming police departments and the Kent County Sheriff's Office are partnering to teach bike safety this weekend.

The law enforcement agencies are working with Dick's Sporting Goods at Rivertown Crossings to host a free Bike Rodeo for kids and families in the area.

The event takes place in the Dick's Sporting Goods parking lot at the mall on Saturday, April 27 from 10 a.m. until noon.

The Bike Rodeo will teach kids how to ride a bike safely as well as provide basic bike helmet safety checks. A skills course will also be offered for kids who want to challenge themselves on their bike.

People attending the event are encouraged to bring their own bikes. The event will have some loaner bikes available, but it is a limited supply and first come first served.

There will also be ice cream, giveaways and bike raffles at the event.
