LUDINGTON, Mich. — As Veteran's Day approaches, 13 ON YOUR SIDE is highlighting a Northwest Michigan business that has been committed to serving our community.
Ludington Beverage Co. Inc. is an entirely veteran-owned and operated team that has been delivering some of your favorite beverages across the west side of the state.
Shortly after the end of the prohibition in 1933, the distributor opened its doors to the community.
“This company has seen tremendous growth and success as a leader in our industry and local communities we serve. I am proud to represent the fourth generation at Ludington Beverage Co. Inc., working alongside our dedicated family of employees to promote choice and competition while delivering the best products and superior service to our customers," President of Ludington Beverage Tad Reed said.
The president said he's proud to create job opportunities for those who served.
On top of that, the company is a proud partner of "Folds of Honor."
Folds for Honor is an organization that helps families of fallen or disabled U.S. military members and first responders. They serve these families by helping them receive education opportunities and support through a scholarship program.
Earlier in June, the City of Ludington had its 150th birthday. The celebration was especially significant to Ludington Beverages since they were also celebrating their 90th anniversary.
To commemorate, the company brought the popular beer "Budweiser Clydesdales" to town. Through the week of celebration, the beer distributor raised $10,000 for Folds of Honor.
The veteran-owned team has a wide range of products from international beers to beers brewed locally from places like Creston Brewery. They also offer some wines and non-alcoholic drinks, which can all be found on their website.
This Saturday is Veterans Day. It's a time for all of us to honor those who served to defend our country.
As part of Operation Greenlight, the 13 ON YOUR SIDE Weatherball will be lit green on Saturday and Sunday along with other Kent County landmarks.
