West MI shoppers can find relief at the store with Thanksgiving sales

Shoppers can find relief this year with Thanksgiving deals across West Michigan.

MICHIGAN, USA — Here’s something to be thankful for this Thanksgiving: Most dinners feeding 4 to 6 people are discounted at these West Michigan stores.

13 On Your Side looked at prices of Thanksgiving staples from Aldi, Meijer and Family Fair Tuesday morning.

Here are some discounted prices that could help shoppers save this year.

Turkey

If you don't have a turkey brand preference-- Meijer had one of the better deals at 49 cents per pound. If you have a coupon, the Family Fare price is 32 cents per pound.

However, if you do want a Butterball turkey, Family Fare has the best price at around $13.

Sides

When it comes to side dishes, Aldi has the lowest prices. Their name-brand stuffing and gravy were less expensive.

In addition, green bean casserole ingredients would cost less than $6 there... compared to both Meijer and Family fare where ingredients total more than $7.

For mashed potatoes, a 5-pound bag of potatoes is on sale for $1.

Cranberries are also on sale at Meijer for 99 cents.

Dessert

To top off your dessert, Aldi, Family Fare and Meijer offer nearly the exact same price for pie. Each store has options for as low as $4.99.

Family Fare has whipped cream at 99 cents.

As always it's best to shop around to see if you can snag any coupons or find items on sale for the best price.
