KENTWOOD, Mich. — A Kentwood steakhouse is permanently closed as part of move by its parent company to shutter 41 locations across the country.
The Kentwood Outback Steakhouse permanently closed Monday, according to it's Facebook page.
Bloomin' Brands, which owns Outback Steakhouse, Bonefish Grill, Carrabba's Italian Grill and other franchises, announced the closures during an earnings call Friday.
The company closed mainly Outback Steakhouse locations, but also closed some Bonefish Grill, Carrabba's Italian Grill and Fleming's Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar locations.
Bloomin' Brands CEO David Deno said that the locations closed were involved in older leases from the 1990s and 2000s. He added that other factors were also considered like sales, traffic and future investments.
The company plans on opening as many as 45 new restaurants in the coming year, according to the earnings call.
Two Outback Steakhouse locations still remain in West Michigan, one located in Grandville and the other in Walker. You can find a complete list of Michigan locations here.
