GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. β After months without a home, a popular authentic Mexican restaurant is reopening today in the Creston Neighborhood of Grand Rapids.
La Huasteca closed its doors at its location on Plainfield Avenue in April of this year after their lease was terminated by the building's owner. Now, the restaurant is excited to be reopening under the name Iker's Tacos on Coit Avenue.
An initial hiccup was caused by the restaurant's new location being inside a residentially zoned district of the Creston Neighborhood.
But, with the help of the Creston Neighborhood Association, that roadblock was taken care of and Iker's Tacos is set to open its doors today, Friday, Nov. 15 at 4 p.m. for their grand opening.
The grand opening will be from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. and will only feature a limited menu, the restaurant wrote on Facebook.
Iker's Tacos is located at 1634 Coit Avenue NE in Grand Rapids.
While Iker's Tacos is only set to be open from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. for its grand opening tonight, but the restaurant lists its regular hours as:
